Why do you look for the living among the dead?

The Gospel in the Resurrection - Easter Sunday

Re-read the passages that pastor Brad referenced during our Easter service. Luke 24:1-12 and Romans 6:5-14. Discuss as a group how these passages tie together.

Jesus is risen!

Luke 24:5-6 reads ‘In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee, the son of man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified, and on the third day be raised again.”

Discuss with your group which parts of this stand out to each of you. Consider the phrase ‘why do you look for living among the dead.’ Pause and think of your own life. Where are you looking for life where it’s not meant to be found? In what ways do you not recognize yourself as one who is alive?
